Sita Navami is the appearance day of Mother Sita, an incarnation of Goddess Laksmi.
Ever devoted as a wife, Sita dutifully sacrificed Her privileged life to follow Her husband into a 14-year exile to the forest. She endured many hardships in Her incarnation and played a central role in the downfall of the evil Ravana,
who has kidnapped Her. With the help of Lord Hanuman, Lord Rama killed the demon king, rescued Sita, and everyone returned triumphantly to Ayodhya.
She is recognised for her dedication, self-sacrifice, courage, and purity. We will honour Her by reciting excerpts from the Ramayana.
