Event Details

Today we celebrate Gita Jayanti – the day when Lord, in the role of humble charioteer, told the Gita to His friend and disciple Arjuna.
The Bhagavad Gita is one of the most important scriptural texts written by Veda Vyasa. In only 700 verses, it covers a range of topics in philosophy and theology, making it one of the most comprehensive pieces of Hindu literature. Our beloved Gurudev describes the Gita as a book about life itself. It symbolises the journey that everyone takes in their life to realise and reunite with the Lord.
For the celebration we will conduct a Gita Yagna, during which all the verses of the Bhagavad Gita will be recited. It is a profound method of purifying oneself and helps to internalise the message of the Gita. Let us praise Bhagavan Krishna and Veda Vyasa, and give thanks to the teachings that the Gita grants us.

“Whenever there is a decline in dharma I will come, I will manifest Myself.”
Shreemad Bhagavad Gita
Chapter 5, Verse 15
