Govinden Puja

The Govinden festival, always in honor of Lord Hari the protector of the universe, is celebrated by devotees with special prayers accompanied by koummi and kollatam dances (tradition South Indian dance) , performed around the big lamp which we call as “kuttuvilakku”. 

This special lamp is made up of several arms, with hundreds of small lights representing the infinity of Krishna’s manifestation. Throughout the night, this lamp is fueled by oil poured by the faithful, while these small flames illuminate the feast.
