The Sri Ranganath Mandir, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Ranganatha, a reclining form of the Hindu deity, Maha Vishnu. It is situated right in the heart of the Island of Mauritius in Stanley, Rose-Hill, and is one of the most beautiful temple in all of Mauritius. Constructed in 1996, the temple is actually the source of Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s mission, as it is based in the place where Guruji grew up, and is walking distance from the place where He was born.

Temples are known for being the house of the Lord. It is a place to connect more deeply with yourself and with others on the spiritual path. It is a place to learn and evolve through spiritual practice. Even more, what makes your visit to Sri Ranganath temple so extraordinary is the opportunity to experience the presence of a living, God-realised Master, Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda.

Ranganath is the deity in a resting form of Lord Vishnu, recumbent on the great form the serpent God Adishesha. His consort is Goddess Maha Lakshmi. This is the form in which he is open to listening to all of his devotee’s woes, and blesses them. Apart from being worshipped by all Hindus, this form is of particular importance to the Sri Vaishnava community. The Murti Sthapana or Prana Pratishtha of Sri Ranaganth was performed by Acharya Shree Sudarshana Devendra Appayah and Paramahamsa Vishwananda on the 19th August, 2017.
